It's the end of the world as we know it.

The Halo franchise will be ripped apart, when Bungie officially hand over the Halo brand to Microsoft, ending their highly successful partnership.

We'll be undergoing a metamorphosis of our own. Very soon Bungie.net will change, culminating with the launch of our next universe at some unknown time in the future. The first small steps will be taken soon, with Halo playlist management changing hands on August 2nd, the very same day we plan to deploy our parting thoughts on the last twenty years through a ViDoc titled, "O Brave New Worlds."

ey titled and ended their update with something rather interesting - "See you starside". Already dropping hints at their first game?

It will be a sad end to what is arguably one of the greatest franchises in gaming history. Halo has helped carry the Xbox brand. It redefined online gaming. It redefined its respective genre.

343 Industries have big shoes to fill. Their first project is a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, followed by the next trilogy in the Halo series (4,5,6).
