There are already a couple Resident Evil titles in the works including Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3Ds and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for PS3 and 360. Even though these two games are in the works many rumors have surfaced of a separate game called Resident Evil 6.

Above is what seems to be a logo portraying "Resident Evil 6". The guys over at GameBandits have claimed this picture was recently snapped at a Capcom event in Japan. Below the logo there is a long line of what appears to be gibberish, although it is a bit too blurry to tell. Below that line there is a date. The date is "15.09.2011".

The reason this date is believed to represent the reveal date and not the release date is because that day is also the first day of the Tokyo Game Show. As of now nothing is confirmed about the existence of this game so we will have to wait and see what the truth is.

Personally I am skeptical about this. The picture was claimed to have been taken in Japan, yet the at the bottom right of the page, in all english, it says: "© Capcom Co. Limited. ALL RIGHTS [RESERVED]".

So what are your opinions? Do you think that the existence of "Resident Evil 6" is at all likely? Do you think this image is a fake or a hoax? Do you think it is real and that it represents the reveal date for the game?

personally i prefer the old Resident Evils where there were puzzles and you had to think about things. (Should i keep this ammo, use it or discard?) and you had to make choices and the bosses etc whereas the new ones are just about modern guns and equipment etc

I could have sworn that Capcom said that they were hesitant to release RE6 because they weren't sure which direction they wanted the series to go in. Could have been a rumor, but with all the new/remake REs coming out this year, at least they haven't dropped the series or anything.

Yeah. I never beat it more than twice, but my brother beat that damn game around 8 times and my dad played it through probably 15. It was on the Gamecube. I can't wait for the HD remake to come to PSN though.

If it's anything like Resident Evil 4 I'll be all over it.
