This tutorial will show you how to make Minecraft run faster but it may not work for all computers. Basically I got mad at my computer cause it would always run games slow, my graphics card is Intel Pentium so it's not that good.
Requirements:
- Ubuntu 11.04 You must login or register to view this content.
- Minecraft You must login or register to view this content.
Once you have those your ready to go.
Step 1: Install Ubuntu 11.04 anyway you want.
Step 2: Install Minecraft on Ubuntu!
Step 3: Play it and it should run faster!
The reason this works is that Ubuntu 11.04 doesn't have much applications running on the OS and when you use it you will notice it is faster than Windows 7 even Windows XP! I now personally use Ubuntu 11.04 more often, you guys here should try it! Hope this helped!
So the tutorial is basically to use a low resource OS so there's more memory and whatever else available for Minecraft? Should only be effective for very low-end PCs, if I'm not mistaken.

Pretty much, he said he had an Intel graphics card.
Hi,
I have a really powerful pc running 64bit ubuntu and java but minecraft only runs at 16fps most of the time. My computer has 8gb of ram and a 3.2ghz processor so it should be fast. Can anyone help me make it faster?
Thanks,
Pig Lord
Lol 600MB. I suggest just changing the particles to minimal or decreased and making rendering distance to normal or small even if your computer is pretty good.
