You may have seen it on the television; heard it on the radio, or even experienced it first hand. Especially as of late, rioting has been a major issue globally. From the Canadian Stanley Cup, to the recent London riots, the tech industry ultimately pays for the actions of civilians. Be it by means of theft, or even bad publicity; when disorderly conduct occurs, they are the first targeted.
In the recent UK riots, many selfish actions have unfolded by individuals partaking in the protests. Moreover, most people rioting do it in means of personal gain (i.e theft). Many can agree that the events within London have gone too far. Last night, Sony Music warehouse was burnt to the ground by suspected protesters in the London region. The building of Sony’s was the main location for Pias, which is the largest distributor of independent music in the United Kingdom. With such thing taking place, many corporations are impacted. Not only do stocks plummet, but minor distributors are forced to close up doors, fire employees, and put ends to their company.

Even children feel the need to simply walk in and pocket these small items, as it has been reported children as young as 11 have been witnessed looting.
Furthermore, there is always bad reputation which arises from people’s actions. It seems that many corporations are often to blame due to the devices or services which they offer. In recent incidents, Twitter has been under attack by not only authorities, but numerous others individuals for it’s ability to connect, update, and join other’s in such easy fashion.

In contrast, it seems that Blackberry is enduring heavy fire for it’s role involving the UK riots. With Blackberry Messenger (BBM) many involved have reportedly planned out events through the ever-so-popular instant messaging application. Allowing any individuals to communicate through their Blackberry device, with only a simple scan or Pin type in, BBM has become a choice for many, as opposed to Facebook or Twitter.

After this sincere notice was posted through Twitter, a group hacked Research in Motion’s BlackBerry Blog. The reason for doing so was justified by the desire of RIM wanting to assist UK police in identify rioters using BBM messaging service.
These incidents are only some of many which have occurred as of recently. All in all, the aftershock on the tech industry is rather tremendous, as it not only affects businesses, but us as well. No one wins when riots take place within cities, and the end outcome is usually worse than the issue which caused it. Looting has become a fad that people take place in for mere purpose of making profit. Of course, there is right to freedom of speech, and freedom to do as you choose; however, there is a line between what is moral and immoral. </div>

What is sad, is how soft the world has gotten. We let these morons cause millions of dollars in damage, not just to the government or the industry but also to the average person. They just sit there with their batons and shields wasting time attempting to catch a couple of people and then they end up getting a light handed sentence. They need to start sentencing the caught people to death, when these riots start causing damage they need to start calling in armored vehicles using live rounds to get things back into order.

It's just an act of mindless people, those who are creating these fires; looting the shops and rioting are mostly if not all in their teens so they have no idea how this is going to impact them in the future not to mention how's it's going to impact their life since if they're old enough to be a criminal they're old enough to face the consequences.
The youngest person caught looting was 7 and the youngest arrested was 11. But the police have stepped their game up and i'm sure this will be resolved soon if not by tonight however it's too little too late, there are buildings that have been there through 5-6 generations burnt down for no reason. They could have at least had the decency to burn political building targets.
