During Gamescom this year, Sony has announced a new model of the PSP handheld gaming console. The new version currently has no official name and is being called a "value priced" reboot of the PSP system.

It is going to be priced at 99 Euros. That roughly translates to $143 in the US. The odd bit is the fact that in the US you can currently purchase the PSP-3000 new for $129.99. So it will be interesting to see how Sony goes about doing pricing in the US.

No other details, features, or modifications have been announced as of now.

So what is your opinion? How do you think Sony will go about pricing this system for the US? Do you think that it will even be made available in the US? Could it possibly be a European exclusive? Or will Sony possibly price the system at $99?

Thanks to Ghost0306 for the info.

It is now known that this version of the PSP will be called the PSP E-1000. It will only be available in PAL territories. This version will come at a price of 99 Euros. It will not include any Wi-Fi connectivity. Below is a picture of the system.

I had a PSP and I hated it, If I'm not at home, I want to be working or hanging with friends, not playing a video game.

Yea, if it is roughly, 99-125 dollars, I may just may get a job and buy one of those after I buy a laptop.

Wondering how this will turn out.
