Today has been a very interesting day in the world of Minecraft. Many speculations and rumors have also been floating around on how this was leaked. Some people say it was posted on 4chan in /v/ and then we also have Jens Bergensten who works alongside Notch in developing Minecraft might have even leaked it himself. *UPDATE* On the Minecraft Forum they have also Included

After he commented after fixing a bug he might release a jar file for the expert users. And of course with that being said a lot of excitement when up in the air. And then then Jens released the file for all to see and download which was the Minecraft 1.8 beta.

Notch has made comments on his twitter that if you have downloaded the leak and are currently using it you should report any bugs you find and to feel slightly bad. Hen then went on to mention that he is fine with you using but then went on to say to make sure you only get it from the leaked url they are hosting. As always be careful with everything you download these days.

Well of course with a leak you are going to have updates on what people have learned with it and have also found. So I will include a list below of everything as of right now. I will also keep this list updated.

<li>Biomes are MUCH larger editing the height limits</li>

<li>Swamp biome was added to the list of existing biomes vines now grow on tree's
Vines Can be collected with shears, in the manner of leaf blocks. Vines will grow on any surface they are placed on</li>

<li>You now get Beef when you kill cows and chicken when you kill chickens</li>

<li>Food can now be stacked</li>

<li>Ruins</li>

<li>Silverfish</li>

<li>Creative mode
ingame item spawning, No mobs, Flying and more</li>

<li>Abandoned mine shafts underground</li>

<li>Endermen
Normally passive, these night-spawning mobs will teleport to (and attack) you if you look directly at them. When defeated, they can drop Ender Pearls, which presently do nothing</li>

<li>Bow charging
Variable damage with charge, can also land critical hits. Additionally, attacks can crit if you hit a player or mob when descending from a jump</li>

<li>Sprinting
Run faster, knock mobs back that are hit during a sprint - appears to deplete the hunger bar faster</li>

<li>New background and server layout

<li>Server layout contains additions like Saving servers, connections, How many people are in a server at the present time.</li>

<li>Chest animation (lids open, close)</li>

<li>Player list on SMP (Press TAB ingame)</li>

<li>Hunger
Depletes slowly over time, can be filled by eating food. At 9 more more bars, you will regenerate health slowly.</li>

<li>Eating animation</li>

<li>Arrows stick to mobs</li>

<li>Xp bar</li>

<li>New lighting engine (Colored lights, smoother lighting)</li>

<li>Clouds are now at the ceiling of the world</li>

<li>Cave spiders</li>

<li>Zombies drop rotten flesh, which can be consumed, Unknown on what it currently does to the food bar, other then turn it green</li>

<li>Watermelons (as well as watermelon and pumpkin seeds)</li>

<li>Glass panes
These can be crafted at a crafting table by making a 3x2 grid of Glass Blocks - makes 16 panes. These panes can be placed in lines, corners and crosses, and they will adjoin with the nearest adjacent block.</li>

<li>Iron Bars
Created by making a 3x2 grid of iron ingots at a crafting table. Can be placed in the same manner as glass panes</li>

<li>Brick, Stone Brick stairs</li>

<li>Smooth stone brick
Can be crafted by placing Stone in a 2x2 grid, makes 4 Stone Bricks</li>

<li>-F6 & F7 Adjust the time of day when pressed/held</li>

Saving servers... Sounds interesting don't you think?

If you're afraid your minecraft will crash/corrupt just backup the whole .minecraft folder beforehand, then replace the jar, A few thousand have used this by now probably more and not one person has had it crash.....................

just found out it's not a leak it's intentional main reason is for testing, released by notch and the team themselves

I am amazed.

What it means by saving is,
You must login or register to view this content.
You click add server and enter the ip, that way you don't need to write it or remember it if you join multiple servers
