Across the years, There have been many different GTA games. Each game has only had one playable character, with the exception of GTA IV in which you had the ability to play as Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz, or Luis Lopez. (If you had purchased the two DLC) However, This time around, It has been said by many different sources that Rockstar may be incorporating multiple playable characters into GTA V. This would really improve the game's connection to it's players. For example, people want to play as people like themselves to feel, in a way, empowered. Most players (apart from the slightly angry Russian portion) would have had no connection to GTA IV's main character Niko Bellic. The game seems more exciting when you can put yourself in the character's shoes. The addition of a female playable character could also open the game to a new audience. There are many girls that are picking up consoles now and you will find a lot of them on games such as Call Of Duty and Battlefield. Maybe a female character would appeal to them in a way that makes them want to buy the game.
Even though when playing games with multiple characters I tend to go for the scarier looking characters, people will now be able to relate to the characters more. However, this is all but a rumor at this moment in time, although it may be a short amount of time until we find out about the character(s).[/FONT]

Don't you mean sexist? They're supposedly adding a female character in the game. It doesn't matter about race in my opinion. Any guy you play with is still a guy.
