By now we've seen the same old Battlefield 3 soldier thousands of times, from wallpapers, to game covers, to trailers, and even PC hardware and peripherals. Now Swedish media reveals the real man behind the Battlefield soldier, Dennis Lennartsson, who reports that he and DICE took over 500 potential photos for the Battlefield 3 cover, ending up with what we now know as the soldier.

Lennartsson says all the combat gear he wore weighted 30 KG, about 65 pounds, which he had on him not only during the photo shoots, but during extensive motion capture filming he did for the singleplayer campaign. If you think the Battlefield 3 cover looks familiar to the Bad Company 2 cover, it's because Lennaartsson posed for that one as well.
