An inside report claims the announcement of the next-gen Xbox (more popularly known as Xbox 720) will be veiled by Microsoft as early as CES 2012?
This news came from a French-based site in which its source came from “very close” individuals who are linked with the Redmonian company. It's expected partial announcement will be on the upcoming Consumer Electronic show happening on January 10-12, also, Xboxygen did confirm the new xbox will use a hexa-core type of CPU with 2GB DDR3 Memory and a prototype dual-GPU from AMD. An interesting note is that it is said that the company have been working on this project since 2005 since the release of the Xbox 360, that's a whopping 6 years! This news is connected with last week’s report that “Loop” division will handle Xbox 720’s software parts while a division called “Infinity” will be tasked for its hardware.

It has also been said though that this console will not make it's debut until 2015, which will make it 10 years after the Xbox 360's release, not a massive surprise because 10 years is around the right gap between different consoles for me, seeing as they've had 10 years to work on it, let's hope it is a drastic change from the 360 and that we get something really nextgen and something un-expected! Another story that comes from this is whether Sony are going to be releasing something, we heard a couple of months back that they are definitely working on a home console that will also be released in 2015, but again we will just have to wait and see!

Thanks for reading,

how about at most 2gb
and a very powerful single gpu.

I don't see how it would be hard to believe. Plenty of people have PCs with even better specifications than this. Consoles are very much so computers, therefore it's possible that Microsoft's trying to develop a console that can compete (in performance) with a gaming PC.

It'd be a very smart move, and as a PC gamer I would applaud them for it. Consoles could be a lot more than they already are, and I'm surprised that they weren't what they could have been right off the bat.

This could very well be a console standard. Just because the word "console" is in it doesn't mean "hardware restriction". That's completely dependent on the manufacturer.

Yeah Buddy!
Xbox are going to delve into media too, before you know it consoles are going to feel like pc's. You will open up a program like the console version of steam and just **** with friends, they will be around £500 tho, going to be expensive as feck.

>Implying that you know how large this case will be. Let alone the GPUs. Who ever said they wouldn't be low-profile?

Oh, I get it. Hold it everyone, we've got a psychic up in here.

No, but seriously though, you're not fooling anyone with your psuedo-intellectualism.

And notice I said it was possible, not probable? You're comprehension skills are incredible as well, Brosky.

OMG, my Asus Notebook got 8-cell-CPU and 3gb ddr3 GPU, and 16gb ramddr3, so if this is true, and still 4 years... I will probably stick to my ps3 and pc :P
