As many xbox users (and non xbox users) will know, there is a new dashboard update due out, and that day is today
The new update will be most useful to those kinect users, who will now be able to use voice control to navigate the dashboard and user a variety of new features.
Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft has said....
“A new era in entertainment begins where all your entertainment is together in one place—your games, movies, TV shows, music and sports,” “With this update, Xbox 360 system owners will experience Kinect voice control integrated with Bing search, making your TV and entertainment experiences more social and personal than ever.”

Set to launch later today, the 6th of December, the new Xbox content will offer a large range of additional content options which has been described as the ‘next wave’ of console content.

Before on xbox, all you could do is watch sky, IF you were already a sky customer. You could also watch a few music videos and movie trailers, but a lot of these you had to pay for. Now with the new xbox dashboard update there is a long list of new apps available.

Just from this short list above you can get a glimpse at what will be available to us.
With LoveFilm you can pay a little £4.99 and have unlimited access to films streamed to your xbox, this is a great feature for those who are already paying for a lovefilm subscription.
The ones I am most interested in are the on demand TV channels, and movies as well as the music apps. I rarely sit down and watch TV, but now if there is something I wanted to watch on channel 4, 5 or the other channels that have been added to the update I will be able to.
I have never heard of Crackle before, but it sounds like it will be very popular if its allowing free movie streaming, I just hope the quality will be good. Along with quality, what is also unknown as of yet is the buffering speed. Normally I never have a problem watching a video on my xbox, but if its a whole movie or a long TV show, I don't know what my connection will be like when streaming it.
Another key feature im looking forward to is the YouTube app. I use to my ps3's browser a lot and youtube was a popular website for me to go on. its the one thing I have thought the xbox is missing compared to the ps3, a web browser. Saying to be an all round entertainment system, a web browser was just the one thing missing. It has not been added still.
UK and US
The US users are to benefit right from the beginning with access to channels like ESPN, Hulu, Netflix.
Where as UK users of the service will only have limited access to LOVEFILM. Its said that later this month the service will expand with 4OD, Demand 5, YouTube, Blinkbox, MSN and Vevo all set come to UK users in the next few weeks. The BBC and its hugely popular iPlayer service are set to be added in early 2012.
So at the moment the update doesn't include everything for both the US or the UK. The US at the moment have more channels and services on offer, but both still have to wait for the full package which should be arriving soon.
Bing Search
The new bing search feature isn't what it first appears. At first it sounds like a web broswer feature so you can search the web on your xbox, but Bing search Xbox is a strictly local affair, and will only search through content available over Xbox Live. This can be used to find game demos, DLC and a lot more as some users find the market place hard to navigate.
A simple search of a game title like "fallout 3" will pull up the game, plus related trailers, premium themes, add-ons and even related music selections.

Bing doesn't mind unspecific searches, and allows you to search by title, director, actor and genre. The experience is very sleek, and is one of the finest features of the Dashboard update. This feature is highly useful to kinect users being able to search by their voice, but its also available for non kinect users, usign a text typing option instead.
I am yet to download the update but I will be downloading it as soon as I can. Im not sure if its out yet everywhere but please post on here if you have downloaded it

highly doubt it, but it changes the dae.bin so any AP2.5 (this includes XGD3) games you have won't work and you will need to wait for 3.0 to come out
but if you have been online in the last few weeks you will have found that out already as they changed the dae.bin silently

Just checked my email, and i dont have any email from xbox or microsoft stating that. proof?
