The first piece of Modern Warfare 3 DLC was set for January and now the release date has been announced.
The first piece of DLC will be released January 24th.
And if your still wondering what it is going to be exactly then a recent tweet by the man himself FourZeroTwo aka Robert Bowling as shed some light on what the DLC will contain:
The announcement of park also may bring back one of the previous rumours of the other map pack names:
- Morning Wood
- Park
- Italy
- Concrete
- Overwatch
So with confirmation of Park it looks like Morningwood could still make its way into the first Mw3 DLC.
When announcing the release date of the DLC Bowling commented on the possible future DLC's.

This was hinted at previously by Bowling and now he confirms we will see more than just map packs, which was obvious with a total of 20 pieces of DLC being offered throughout the year. The map packs will hopefully also bring new survival maps for you to use, but unlike black ops its a shame the DLC will unlikely bring new achievements / trophies to challenge us.
Now to confirm the DLC will be launched to xbox live users on the 24th and no date has been announced for Playstation or PC gamers, but could be predicted 4 weeks (1 month) after the launch on xbox.
The DLC is also only for Call of duty elite subscribers as seen on the tweet by Robert Bowling.

The dlc will not be a map pack!
Maps will be released to those with elite monthly and then they will be downloadable in a map pack which will be released later on. So the map for January will be Park and there will be other DLC that month which isn't a map.

To be fair, by the Elite stealing your moneyz statement I meant for PS3 users. This is because what's the point of shipping out money for Elite to get the newest and greatest when we still have to wait a month just to get it? Wouldn't being no Elite and waiting for the map packs save you 60$?

4 weeks is roughly the same as it was with black ops DLC.

Not really. I watched all those multiple hour long videos with Robert Bowling and other devs where they would answer questions and they never said whether elite users get it the same time regardless of console. I specifically remember one video where a guy asked 402 on twitter about this and he said he doesn't know....

The order will likely go:
1) Xbox premium elite
2) ps3 premium elite
3) non premiums
4) everyone else
If you don't have elite you won't be able to get the maps until they are released as a map pack

well it depends on if you are going to buy ALL of the dlc content. if you plan on it then no, you are acctualy getting a steal im pretty sure that there will be atleast 4-5 dlcs. so 5 x 15 = 75 plus you get the maps before most, so elite is acctualy a good deal if you are a real dedicated cod player.
