I need it because my saves from my slim were the 1.2 patch and wont work with it on the OG patch. Also the original patch ran very laggy on my ps3 but after I updated it was fixed.

Saves dont work on any other PS3's, I'm pretty sure that your old save won't work :/

Yeah they do, I tried it with a friends ps3 and it somehow worked..also there is threads where you can download a game save from NGU and use them.
