Modern Warfare 3 - DLC plans for the future
Source: You must login or register to view this content.// By: Wondoh // January 5th 2012

With Modern Warfare 3 being part of the biggest entertainment franchise in the world they need to keep ahead of the game by improving their services.

Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing CEO has recently discussed plans for a new DLC Strategy, bringing regular updates and constant new playable content.
The idea is to prevent the boredom of DLC after it us released all in one go.

This means that we Could expect the regular changes to the gaming experience.
As we all know DLC can get easily boring after a couple weeks so instead of waiting months we could see new content every couple of weeks.

We want to provide DLC to people more often and also experiment with more of a variety in the forms of playable content.”

This mentions that there will be different types of DLC which we have already established. THe main test will be when DLC is released this month and to see how customers react to the newly spaced out DLC.

Obviously to get this feature you would need call of duty elite premium membership as this is one of their advantages to the feature DLC before public release. This year will be the test of whether or not the $50 a year elite subscription is a neccisity for the gamers. Will it save money and will the new way that DLC is being planned for release. If you are a hardcore call of duty fan then getting the newest and latest DLC is a must.

The previous DLC layout has been just maps every few months, and each time the new maps are announced the old ones suddenly are less enjoyed.
With new maps and other content such as spec ops, and the possibility of new multiplayer content such as guns, it should mean that you never get bored as you will have regular updates.
We may even see a new campaign mission. You never know.

Now I Dont know about you but surely 1 new map will get Boring a lot quicker then 4, but dependent on the quality of the other types of DLC should hope to keep the game enjoyable.

With the DLC starting January 24th for Xbox we will likely in February see the DLC split up within the month instead of say February 24th for example.

So what do you think of the idea of keeping the game fresh with lots of smaller regular updates and contents, compared to the usual longer wait for all the content in one pack.

they need to make the maps more interactive like black ops did, like opening doors and destroying bridges was good like

At least one map with a destructible environment would be good, helping add variety to the game

I'm an elite member so if DLC is free... it's ok. If I've to pay again, well... goodbye IW.
