(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello fellow hackers. I may have hacked Dead Island on PS3. I am not for sure yet. I will be telling you what I've done so far, and what needs to be done. This has been a bit complicated so far. I first had to use my actual game disc to get to /dev_bdvd/PS3_GAME/USRDIR. Inside of USRDIR there is a EBOOT.BIN and a directory named DI (Which stands for Dead Island). DI is where you can modify files. I won't go into the DI folder for now. But I will say there is file named Data0.pak. Inside of the Data0.pak file there is tons of directories and files. But the one I am looking at is default_levels.xml. I used Notepad to open up the default_levels.xml. Inside there is basically "dvars/cvars". Here's a few pictures:
1. You must login or register to view this content.
2. You must login or register to view this content.
3. You must login or register to view this content.

What I have looked at and edited are the following codes:
<prop n="MaxHealth" v="999" /> (Edited from 100)
<prop n="BaseMaxHealth" v="999" /> (Edited from 100)
<prop n="BaseCriticalHealth" v="30" /> (Not edited, may lower)
<prop n="BluntWpnDurabilityLoss" v="-999" /> (Edited from 1.0)
<prop n="RangedWpnDurabilityLoss" v="-999" /> (Edited from 1.0)
<prop n="CutWpnDurabilityLoss" v="-999" /> (Edited from 1.0)
<prop n="BulletWpnDurabilityLoss" v="-999" /> (Edited from 1.0)

What are the effects of these you may ask?
Semi Godmode
No weapon durability loss

I will update you guys with anything else I find. This is just a "maybe" hacked thread guys, and I am not for sure if this will effect anything. It's worth a shot though.

What I am currently doing: Read Below...

My Questions:
1. What does - <level id="1"> mean? Could it be the character? Or is it your character's level?

Update 1: You must login or register to view this content. :fa: It's getting there :p
Update 2: You must login or register to view this content. It's finished extracting from the disc. Now beginning to put the files into BLUS30790
Update 3: This doesn't look too good  You must login or register to view this content. It didn't copy the main Data.pak files. I'll try to re upload them once the whole thing finishes transferring.
Update 4: You must login or register to view this content. I could re upload the .pak files that were not uploading correctly on the first transfer. I am now replacing the Data0.pak with the one I modded. After I do that I will data transfer and hope for the best.
Update 5: Well, after all that hard work, it gave me a stoopid "bluetooth" error.
Update 6: I may have found another way to hack it! Will update once I try!
Final Update: Sorry guys, I have tried everything that I know. Read what I've been doing below, and see if any of you all can do anything with it Winky Winky

This is what I have: You must login or register to view this content.
This is what it should be: You must login or register to view this content.
I have tried this varies ways:
1. Extracted the necessary files from the disc
2. Made a backup, and extracted the files.
3. Data transferring from my 4.00 PS3 to my 3.55 PS3 (Hoping it would put the files into the game, but it didn't)
So basically what you need to find out is how to get the DI folder into BLUS30790. ***Like stated above: I did try putting the files into the directory manually, but it resulted in a error on startup. Maybe someone can try to hack that EBOOT.BIN? I'm not good with EBOOT's*** If you have any suggestions: Hit Me Up! I will more than likely try them.

What you need to look at if your trying to mod it:
You need to go to the directory: DI > open Data0.pak (I use 7-Zip)
Inside of Data0.pak there is MANY things. Navigate to: Data > Skills > default_level.html (Open it with NotePad)
I found that there is many things other than the default_level.html that you can edit. Inside of default_level.html there is many "dvars" You can edit them to your liking, like I edited the ones stated above. I hope this helps for anyone looking into hacking Dead Island like I did. WARNING: if you data transfer you WILL loose all of your: Stats, Characters, Weapons,

so you installed the game on 4.0 the dt to 3.5 and the files were there correct? because if you had to back up the game on 3.5 then we cant run it on 4.0.

I think you are reffering to the file default_levels.xml. This is the section with variables that are assigned when you get level1.

I know I am referring to the default_levels.xml, I didn't know what the level id=1 standed for.

You can run this game on 4.00. You CAN'T run it on 3.55. I used 4.00 spoofer on my 3.55 so it spoofed it to 4.00. So, it read I had 2 4.00's. I data transfered from the regular online PS3 to the spoofed 3.55 hoping it would give the game the DI folder which is where all of the files are. I'm beginning to think that you have to actually "start" the game on the system you it to have the DI folder.

Default_Levels.xml (Inside the Data0.pak): You must login or register to view this content.
Data0.pak (Where all of the hackable files are): You must login or register to view this content.

These are the ones that I made (Hacked already)

Try modding the EBOOT.BIN, it's a better method because it will work for ANY ps3 game. It just requires more knowledge to do, but trust me, once you can mod the eboot the possibilities are endless Smile

You can't decrypt dead island eboot.

And btw, in Dead Island you can do a lot more stuff with editing the gamefiles than with editing the eboot.

Retail EBOOT can be decrypted, only a few people have the tools though. Hopefully they'll become publicly available soon.

I can't do anything with an EBOOT. I looked up how to mod one, and this one is the one that you can't. It's got the title name or whatever You must login or register to view this content.
