hey so the title says it all is skyrim worth getting?
If you enjoy losing your social life, then yes, get Skyrim!
Joking, yes, I'd suggest this game to every different kind of gamer, as it's really enjoyable.
You can play both in first-person & third-person, while in third-person you can adjust the camera as far in & out to your comfort.
There's a whole range of different weapons that you can choose from, if you're a powerful, built-up & heavy kind of guy, you can go with any 2-handed weapon (axes, maces, swords). If you're a long-range kind of guy you can go with either magic (spells, spellbooks & shouts) to a bow & arrow, & there are different kinds of arrows & bows.
As for armor, it's simple: light armor = one-handed sword (preferably, with a shield), dagger, bow/arrows.
Heavy armor = 2-handed weapons.
Robes/cloaks = Magic.
But note you can mix & match & the order above is just suggested, you can be creative & do as you please.
If you're
really into story lines, the story in Skyrim is AMAZING. You'll get really into it, really fast. And once you've finished it you'll wish it goes on longer.
If you're an explorer / free-world / roaming kind of player then you're in serious luck. There are so many different fortresses & dungeons to choose from, that you can find randomly while roaming the world:
In fortresses you'll find a nice group of Bandits to bulldoze & you'll find the occasional chest or two outside. Once you're done clearing out the Bandits/whoever it may be outside, look around & you'll find a door or a ladder leading in the fortress & you can beat those guys up & then pretty much pillage anything you can find there & viola, you've just cleared out a camp.
In dungeons you pretty much solve tricky puzzles & kill skeletons, evil wizards, etc. until you reach the end & there'll usually be some sort of gold / valuable(ish) item (or items) to find.
And last but not least, the skills you can level up.
There's so much to choose from, I don't even think I can explain that, haha.
BUT, you'll love it, nonetheless, like everything else in the game.
Well, there's Skyrim, I'd give it a 10/10 when it comes to everything (but lag, and they fixed that).
Have fun!
