Well I love the FAMAS still too. Stuck with both. :fa: I'm bipolar when it comes to guns.

Here's the stats from BF3.
Auto Fire: Yes
Single Shot Fire: Yes
Burst Fire: No
Rate Of Fire: 800
Ammunition: 30 [5.56x45mm NATO] (At 650m/s, the fastest of any AR)
Range: LONG

So basically, it has great stats. It might not blow you away with 1,000 rpm or a 7.62 round...but I'll get to that in a second.

-This gun has the best possible recoil. It has slightly more upwards recoil than the AEK, but this gun has the lowest horizontal recoil out of all the ARs. Add in a grip, and the only existent recoil is up. It's very manageable. Then the ROF doesn't kill you with recoil. I use heavy barrel and even with that, it has barely any recoil. The 5.56 has just as much killing potential as a 7.62 SCAR or G3 without the recoil.

-The rpm. I feel like 800rpm is the perfect rate of fire. I used to like the FAMAS that shoots 1,000rpm. But I've realized that that's way too fast. You run out of bullets after killing one guy. You'll burst for a second to take out a guy, then move to your next target with only 10 rounds left in your clip. It's just too fast to be practical at anything past 25m. Then there are other guns that shoot 600 or so, and that's way too slow. With 800rpm, you can spray at close from the hip and win 85% of encounters but also be able to shoot 10 rounds from any range for a kill. It's the perfect medium.

-There's little things I like about it too. The reload is really fast, the front sight post stays there when you have a sight, so it helps a lot with accuracy, and I feel like a boss destroying people with a starter weapon.

Tl;dr go use the M16A3. It's amazing. I'll even make a class for you... American RDS, Grip, Heavy Barrel. Back it up with an M320 and G18 suppressed.

I always use the M16A3 with the same attachments as you, but with a silencer. BF3 is one of the only games that doesn't have an insanely terrible drawback for using a silencer. I use one on almost every gun I use. I think the only thing that can get frustrating is when I run out of ammo (even with the Ammo perk) and no support guys around, I usually find another M16 nearby pretty quickly. But when I start to shoot at an enemy, turns out it was an M16A4, and I'm dead before I realize it.

So whats the difference between a M16A3 and a M14A4?

A4 has just burst fire and single fire, and in my opinion it recoils allot more....and appears to burst in 4 shots...(i think)

M16A3 w/ holo, grip and suppressor OMNOMNOM! :nb:

I know. Highly underrated and even more accurate.

I started using it after watching SeaNanners rape with it on YouTube. Always my first pick for Assault.

I already use it with holo, grip, and silencer. It's a great gun for hardcore, which I usually play. I almost have it fully unlocked for assault, only a few thousand points away.
