Sony is in development of the yet unconfirmed and unannounced PS4, according to former AMD employees. Also according to them, the Graphics card (GPU) is being developed by AMD.

AMD already has its graphics card technology in the XBOX 360, while the PS3 is using Nvidia technology. If Sony do chose to switch to AMD, it will deal a stinging blow to Nvidia. Nvidia profited largely from PS3 sales, and the loss of its share of console graphics could place it in a bad position. The PS3 uses a 550 Mhz Nvidia graphics card, which is standard within all its consoles.

Both Sony and AMD declined to comment on the project, with Sony Chief Transformation Officer George Bailey even refusing to acknowledge the existence of the PS4. My guess is it will be announced at E3 this year or perhaps next, along with the new 'Kinect' type motion camera. However, at AMD analyst day last month AMD said that they would we getting into gaming much more, which will drive revenue growth.

Here is an interesting video from IGN discussing the possibility of the PS4 and XBOX 720 being shown at E3:

With the PS3 nearly at its end days, I think the PS4 will be released within the next 2-3 years. What do you guys think about all this? Do you prefer Nvidia or AMD? Post below and as always have a nice day.

nVidia is better with costs out the roof but AMD will do just as good with lower costs! I have noticed that AMDs get hotter too.

Hopefully this will allow the feature to upgrade the graphic cards upon the PS3 so as to extend the life of the console as much as possible.

Opposite way around.
nVididia cards are more known to get hooter than AMD ones.
I have a single Gigabyte 6950, runs at around 50 whilst maxing our BF3 but a friend of mine has a GTX 580 and he says his runs at around 80 whilst maxing it out.
AMD is my personal preference. More bang for your buck.

It depends on the manufacturer.. I have a GTX 570 that doesn't go above 40.
