Recently, a patch has been let out for Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) on the Xbox360 that will be aired for the PS3 on the 28th of February. The patch included some of the following fixes/nerfs:

  • Adding more game modes to the hardcore playlists such as: Headquarters (HQ), and Free-for-All (FFA)
  • Nerfing of all akimbo machine pistols
  • Adding the new downloadable content (DLC) maps including: Piazza, Overwatch, and Liberation

If any of you remember correctly, the FMGs were patched along with the Type 95 at one point, but didn't really do too much. What they did (hardly noticeable) was increase the size of the crosshairs. Now, they are to decrease the rate of fire. But like mentioned previously, this is not only for the FMG.

More and more people have been complaining about certain guns and how over powered they are, etc. But in the following quote, you'll be able to see Robert Bowling's take on it.

Bowling was questioned on Modern Warfare 3′s gun balance, specially the ACR, MP7, and Type 95. Bowling explained that these weapons, “statistically speaking,” are not the only used primaries.

As for the hardcore playlists being updated, there is not yet a confirmed date, however, Robert Bowling said that Hardcore HQ is coming soon along with other game modes, as mentioned earlier.

Well, as you noticed, the first MW3 DLC consisting of the three previously stated maps has been out and able to purchase on the Xbox360 for about a month now, but on the 28th of February, they'll be available on the PS3. So maybe you Xbox players want to give us PS3 players some tips?

Lastly, five more prestiges are being added to multiplayer on MW3 for consoles. For PC, there are 20 prestiges. So I would definitely expect the five more in addition to the 15.

From what I hear, there are some more possible updates to come in for MW3 in the next week or so; so stay tuned! Also, what do you think about the updates mentioned above regarding playlist additions, new maps (for the PS3), and nerfing of certain guns?

No so much dieing as it is numbing. It just isn't fun anymore for people who have played more than one or two of the titles.

True but I guess there will be a new group of players to replace us. It's a non-stop market since more and more kids get older every day and then their parents think they are ready to play it. (hope that you understand what I mean, I'm kind of tired :p)

Also, from what I hear, 5 new prestiges were added in this patch update. On February 28th, the Playstation 3 will get 5 more prestiges as well. Good thread :y:.

EDIT: Also, regarding the DLC drop, the newest map Overwatch was added in that patch update as well.

Nerfing the MP7 and the ACR will be a bad idea, honestly. I understand that the ACR has basically no recoil and is powerful, but the MP7 has no recoil but the gun is weak.

Also, you need to be like level 70 to unlock it, so it should have good stats. I don't think they should nerf the MP7 since that is what keeps me rolling B). Thanks for the notification. I'm going to try my best to get to lv. 80 before 11th prestige comes out.

I don't know about dying but definitely not as entertaining. Infinity Ward used to be my favorite game developer but once they came out with MW3 I kind of lost some respect for them since they really didn't change much from MW2. Treyarch, on the other hand, has gone up in my scale as they added way more to Black Ops that I believe made it more enjoyable for a greater amount of time. :y:
