According to the developers at Nintendo, the Wii U will not be as powerful as the PS3, XBOX 360 or the PS Vita. Most guess it will be similar to the PSP, with a HD screen for added sharpness. Still a few years behind technologically, which seems to be a trend for Nintendo recently.

This comes as a disappointment to many Nintendo fans, who thought the Wii U would be able to match the PS Vita in some forms, or at least be close graphically, as many people thought the Nintendo DS was a 'kids toy' and wanted a proper, professional handheld console.

Many people thought that they would be buying a console technologically and graphically ahead of the ageing 6-7 year old XBOX 360 and PS3, but obviously they were wrong. It looks like this handheld will be geared yet again, to family and children.

What do you guys think about this? I think Nintendo has passed its technological prime, and now, rightly, should be pursuing family and kids classics on a relatively low cost system.

Post below and as always,
Have a nice day.

Yeah I agree with you here. However, I see know harm or risk in them trying to up the ante on a consoles visuals
while still being accessible to families and younger children. This is a mistake on their part in my opinion.
