On Wednesday, Google had announced testing on their first wearable technology has begun. Google says that Project Glass is not yet available, however, these Star Trek-looking glasses will be tested publicly. In a video posted below, you can see a man walking around New York City talking to his friend using said product.

Additionally, Google obviously had intentions of releasing information about the project seeing as that some of the Google X (Google laboratory; also where the prototype is currently being worked on and tested) employees released the following quote.

We’re sharing this information now because we want to start a conversation and learn from your valuable input,” the three employees wrote. “Please follow along as we share some of our ideas and stories. We’d love to hear yours, too. What would you like to see from Project Glass?

Also, on Wednesday, a prototype of the product was shown off. As you can see in the picture above, the "glasses" look like a not only aerodynamic, but technologically advanced piece of art, to say the least. They rap around the forehead and have a little box on top of the left eye which looks as to be what is used as a "controller."

Now, as small as it looks, the product can do plenty of things such as:

  • Stream information
  • Allow users to send voice and text messages
  • Take pictures
  • Record videos
  • etc.

What do you think of these glasses? Do you think that they could take over all other needed electronics in a day? Well, some people have released similar statements. In fact, one of the prototype testers released the following statement:

They let technology get out of your way. If I want to take a picture I don’t have to reach into my pocket and take out my phone; I just press a button at the top of the glasses and that’s it.

And like mentioned earlier, Google had released a video of the prototype with a man walking around New York City. You can view it here:

Well, that's it for now. If there's any more information released in the near future, I'll keep you updated? But for what we have now, what do you think of the glasses?

We are only at the beginning of what technology can do. We've only been at it for about 30 to 40 yrs. Imagine what the next 100 will produce.
I can't wait. Winky Winky

If technology is already like this today, I can't even begin to imagine what it will be like in 50 years. The human race is going to be so dumb! Haha
