Battlefield 3 server-side updates are set to arrive shortly on consoles (PC information shortly).
Starting on April 19th, at 10:00am UTC, the game servers will update over several hours. The gradual update will change the following:
Fixed AA missiles not doing damage to vehicles moving at very high speeds
Fixed TV Missile doing much more damage than it should (it is no longer a 1-hit kill)
Tweaked tank armor strength
MAV elevatoring fix, round 2; proning on the MAV will now disable it
Game server stability fixes
Anyone on a server during a restart will be kicked. Battlelog will still be available during the updates and so will the master servers. During the update period, you may be unable to play Multiplayer, but Co-Op should not be affected.
What do you think? I read over the list and notice that tank armor and strength is being tweaked. Since the rent-a-server update was released, I personally felt that tanks were a little too vulnerable and that the armor needed an increase. Although the list doesn't directly specify that armor is being increased, I can't imagine it being decreased further.
The article talks of DICE “Trolling” MAV Riders; proning on the MAV will now disable it. MAV riders may finally be laid to rest with a troll attempt from DICE. However, a work-around was found last time DICE attempted to stop MAV riding, allowing them to continue accessing restricted areas. Do you think it's the end for the riders, or that DICE's attempt will fail once again?
