According to Pod2g's facebook page an untethered jailbreak is to be released very shortly for apple firmware iOS 5.1. The jailbreak creator recently posted on his facebook page the following notice:

The hint from the creator shows that the jailbreak will be with us very shortly and we will finally have an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5! The last jailbreak that he released came with a download link around a week after he made an announcement similar to this one, so we should be expecting it in around 4-7 days. When pod releases the download link and instructions I will be sure to give you all a heads up.

Ahh right never knew he had a Facebook page, and he put on it, only knew his twitter!

And got the 5.1 Download for my 4s Now

What Kane is saying is thrue he have a fb account and sometimes he post there and not in Twitter, just downlaod the update and don't install it untill the jailbreak is released.

I will stay on 5.0.1 because I have downlaod a shit ton of tweaks/mods and I don't want to download all that again. Yesterday I was thinking about making something called maybe iCydia that will do the same as iTunes but you can only connect jailbroken devices and it will do a backup of everything from Cydia so you can update and have everything back instantly, that would be pretty sweet.

I know what to do with Jailbreak Stuff been jailbroken since iOS 1 on the first iPod Touch :fyea:

And this iCydia thing you speak of, You know there is a Jailbreak Tweak Backup storage tweak, Dont know the name but I used it on iOS 4.2 - 4.3.3

I just updated my girlfriends new locked 3GS on tethered 5.1 to work with her sim earlier today, oh why does it come out in a weeks time haha

I know what you say I have used it once it make a backup in your contacts, I think it is called BackuPKG, I'm not sure about this. :p

The 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak is really stable, but if the update to 5.1 is worth it, I'll do it. Thanks for the news Mudkip.
