to complete infinite number of micro-transactions which can rack up unauthorized
charges.

The local California woman is filing suit against Facebook for allowing minors to make
purchases/transactions for Facebook credits without authorization, which are then used
to buy items in games.

Facebook's Terms of Service state that users as young as 13 years old can create accounts, but
need parental permission to make any purchases for Facebook credits. However, the suit alleges
that goes against multiple consumer protection laws in California as well as federal statutes. It was
also filed on "behalf of all parents and legal guardians in the US whose children made unauthorized
purchases." The damages alleged are going to possibly add up to five million dollars, while the California
woman is only seeking several hundred dollars for her personal loss.

So what do you guys think? Who is at fault here? Facebook or the parents?

The parents they have the right to say no to whether they have a facebook or not and if they buy things from facebook or anything so she will have to face the best lawyers in the US to 1 women Facebook, FTW and Money hungry muthF****** out there trying to come up.

I think both are a little at stake here. I mean, she did allow her children to create a Facebook but then again it doesn't look like Facebook is really doing much to stop these kinds of things from happening.

Facebook will win though, the lady has no chance against such a big company.

She let them sign up for a social networking account, not a game site.

On a serious note If she's suing for a loss of couple dollars where will she get money for a lawyer to go against a multi million dollar company.

Shes wasting her money, she will obviously lose.

I digress, to say that I believe both are at fault here. Facebook should implement some type of
thing where it won't allow users under the age of 18 to make purchases like that. And the parent
should pay more attention to what their child is doing.
