(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Activision has announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 13th November, 2012. This has happened before the official reveal was set to take place, due to some early 'switch flipping on the game's UK site'.

This will come as no surprise to many that have been following the Black Ops 2 rumours and speculation closely. The debut trailer is now live! Watch it right here:

Some more screenshots have emerged, including the box art:

I can't help but notice the futuristic feelings these images evoked. Recently, I wrote about the possibility of Black Ops 2 being set in the future, read about that You must login or register to view this content.. Could this turn out to be true? The screenshots above certainly suggest that.

Included on the website is the following:

A 21st Century Cold War? How far does Activision mean by the near future? I don't think the debut trailer will give too much away, however I feel it will include enough information so that an in-depth analysis will be able to reveal even more.

I will keep this thread updated as the details emerge! Expect the debut trailer to become available at 9pm EDT.

So what do you think? Is futuristic warfare something that you are looking forward to seeing enter the Call of Duty franchise? I think it may be the spark CoD needs. Black Ops 2 may not be like anything we have seen in a CoD game yet.

Mr. Qwax
Mr. Awesome.
You know.. I would say the Hype train has begun rolling.. But I'm really not hyped for another Call of Duty, it's just the same re-hash year after year :/

From their site. So we're looking at a slightly futuristic game then?

A little more work has gone into their threads, they didn't just string a few images together and post a thread.

Instead of just writing the same stuff down again that is already on the images seems pointless to me but thats my opinion.

On the other hand, using own comments ect is always usefull but i didn't feel to post it myself (seeing you reffer to my own thread)

In Flames Much?
Going with the setting is 90s to 2020
Starts in the cold war near the end and carries on. Inb4 middle east plot line.

Why do i say 90s well that gun is very close to the XM8 which started life during the 90s. So could be a test version much like some of the guns in black ops was test versions.

I'm not flaming or anything, because what you say is indeed true. There are some instances where members get
to post before news team does. But like Cammmmy said, we have to put a lot more effort into writing our own take
on the story. Even if it means re-posting the news, its just our job. Trust me when I say this for the news team,
we know everything first Winky Winky It just takes us longer to post it because we actually have to write a decent report about it
instead of pasting an image and a sentence or two. Hell, I even give thanks to some people who post news before me because it helps me out.

I digress. I don't know how Black Ops 2 will fare well with its time period, but hopefully it'll be better than MW3.
And I see that the Quadrotor is being shown a lot. I don't like that one bit, because it means it's being pushed as
a major thing in the game. Which means it will get annoying, just in my opinion.

Nice job Storm Smile
