I just tried it and the dispenser didn't re appear it just broke it :/

I use a different method, I use a Furnace with two people either split screen or online. One user will start to destroy the furnace, the other will holed 'X' which keeps making you place it in the box, once the furnace has been destroyed using any pick axe there should be two diamonds or what ever you was duplicating. Hover over the diamonds and put one in your inventory and then the 2nd should show one block, go to your storage and click 'A' on the 64 diamonds and then press and hold 'x' to deposit them until you reach 64... this method is useful if if you've started a new game and cba to find red stone or have it on peaceful because you don't want creepers destroying your home.
