Probably a little late :p But seeing as I just got the game yesterday thought I'd make a short little review on it, as I recommend it.
Available to: PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo 3DS.
Gameplay:
Rated on average about 8.5 . This game takes a lot of elements from many sonic games. First off, there are two different ways to play: Using classic sonic, or using 3D sonic (game play taking a good deal from Sonic Colors, but add more speed). The level choices are strong and very entertaining, minus Crisis City which is just bug ridden (Surprisingly descent on Classic Sonic though). Most levels when your 3D once you use boost you do move fast. By far on Greenhill you move insanely fast, but I won't go too into levels so I won't spoil. Nonetheless, it moves fairly smooth and quick, sometimes a little too fast to react. Gameplay is solid, but still not enough to make the game on its own. Boss fights are easy, as is it to score an S on any level. Rival battles also easy, but fun.
Art/Look
I love it. It takes old levels and refurbishes them to look new, cartooney, bright, and smooth. Take for example Sky Sanctuary (Classic Sonic First, Modern Next

Once again, love the feel and helps pull all the levels together.
Plot
Not much to say. They kept it incredibly light hearted and not serious. Then again, Sonic didn't get known for it's plot.
Music
Very cool how they do a ton of remixes on new songs, like City Escape in two ways. At the same time you can unlock older songs. There are songs from every single sonic game out, including Shadow the Hedgehog. They even let you change the song on any level you choose to play, giving you a ton of variety. I hold a slight grudge on them missing a couple songs I loved previously, such as the classic city escape, but the huge selection makes up for it.
I definitely would recommend the game, especially when it's pretty cheap on Amazon, or any of those sites for the matter.
