Much faster to use a sand gen. I know a dude who perfected a basic version that can yield 32 sand every cycle and it cycles in a minimum of 3 seconds with perfect server connection. That's one stack of sand every 6 seconds. Full inventory in around three and a half minutes. If you take a bit more time you can even be in your inventory making sandstone very very fast by putting 4 stacks of sand in the build slot then using an autoclicker to click the sandstone icon 64 times in a matter of 3 seconds. You can be making sandstone just as fast as you're picking up the sand. I wouldn't count on this being anything more useful than for building on your land. Most servers don't have a store that buys sand/sandstone because of this. I'd only recommend building this if you're sure your server buys sand/sandstone, or if not then save up your money and build this so you have an infinite source of building material. One of the downsides... it is VERY costly to make. I'm talking around 100 redstone, 25 repeaters, 35 pistons, 35 sticky pistons, 16 trap doors, and 16 signs... just to name a few parts on the list. In the longrun though you can't beat infinite money and/or infinite building material. I used it for building and had a huge lot fenced in with a 5 block tall decorative sandstone wall and most of my buildings were either chiseled sandstone or regular.

They sell 8 each, i made over 10k in about 10 minutes doing it but idk
