the only "leap in technology" most 'gamers' would be looking for on consoles is obviously better graphics, which they could definitely add now, and the ability to have bigger servers similar to games on pc. like bf3, if they could manage to make a console run that game almost as well as a mid-ranged pc right now with the 64 man servers or so, it's all the improvements people would need. those who dont want or need that shit could stick with the xbox 360 or ps3 for the time being

but why does everything have to involve cod or games surrounding fps games. what about sandbox games such as gta and skyrim all i couod hope for bigger worlds with more details with much more to do rather than running around and shooting the same people over and over. but all else in my opinion we have basicqlly seen where the ps3 and xbox can do at this point like when la noire came out most of us were like HOLY JIZZ the facial graphics if both companies can imply thos kind of technology with highly detailed surroundings we ciuldnt really want much more
