I have never played tekkit before, but does the version matter? If it does and it is outdated, why don't you update?

He is on about the version of tekkit, you need to download something separate if you haven't already.
Download both of these:
You must login or register to view this content.
You must login or register to view this content.

Put them both in a folder extract the tekkit download and once it's extracted click on the launcher. At the top left choose tekkit, sign in, then it will update. After that join the server and have some fun Happy
