That's how I feel/felt when I got my first Wii, they made it too family-based, and didn't have (really) a very wide variety of titles.
I agree that they're trying to broaden their ideas when it comes to fanbase and who'll purchase it, but it's hard to say.
I agree with that, but at the same time Nintendo pulled this shit on us:
''The Wii U will not have a DVD player onboard, as people don't want everything on one machine but have an additional DVD-player for playing movies''
:O Are you stupid, Nintendo? Microsoft got a patent on recording TV-shows through a game console (for the next gen Xbox) and this way providers of television will be able to give XBOX's instead of PVR's and such (benefit for Microsoft).
PS3 was being bought not only as a gaming console but aswell as a Blu-Ray player because it was the cheapest out there, people use it as a multimedia machine to watch movies on, play music, browse the web (even though the browser's not very good hah).
Then, they stated this
(retarded) statement
''The PS4 and Xbox 720 will not be more powerfull than the PS3 and Xbox 360''
So no, I don't think they're doing it right, even though they're trying.
Only thing I like about this console is the fact the you can play while the TV's off (like Sony wanted to do YEARS ago with the PSP and now the Vita)
