lol that's the whole reason they did that. All their partners like belkin and what not and also Apple were loosing money on accessories. They decided that by changing things up that they could make more money. This way you have to actually go out and buy a new cable if yours breaks instead of just using your old ipod touch cable :p Pain in the ass but that's just the way they decided to do business.
