This information emerged from a recent Electronic Arts Q1 FY13 earnings announcement. You must login or register to view this content. reports that EA is "aiming" to release Battlefield 4 in the window of April 2013 to March 2014.

What does this mean for the beta? Well, EA has confirmed that the beta access will be granted in fall 2013. Currently, the only way to guarantee beta access is to pre-order Danger Close's upcoming Medal of Honour title, which will release October 23. Due to the time frame of the beta, an April 2013 to August 2013 release window for Battlefield 4 is highly unlikely.

It is safe to speculate that Battlefield 4 will release in October 2013, following EA's trend of releasing their AAA shooter titles in the fall. The release will likely be shortly after the beta, as was the case with Battlefield 3.

By saying you are happy now, are you saying that when Battlefield 4 was originally announced you were worried about the pacing of the release, and that it was too soon? I felt the same way, but I think this new announcement has told us that there will be a good amount of time for DICE to let BF3 run its course and release the DLC.

EA and DICE are promising to support BF3 beyond the release of Battlefield 4, so I think we don't have to worry any more :y:

Yeah I felt that they would probably cut BF3's life too short and release BF4 too rushed Yes

Actually though, even if they support BF3 after the release of 4, it doesn't really matter to me because I doubt after playing the rest of the DLC's I won't really find it that fun.
To me BF3 doesn't have the same replay value as BFBC2, I think it's mainly the leveling system to me, once you have everything unlocked and you're leveling through the colonels it's just a bit boring to me sometimes :(

I'd be more happy with a 2014 release but 2013, nah.

Battlefield 4 will most likely come in the end of 2013 due to the beta being out at fall of 2013

EA is pressuring DICE to produce this game. They did it with BF3. DICE wanted to release the game in December, 3 moths later than the release, but EA wanted to beat CoD to a release. Now EA is rushing in BF4. Look at the rest of the BF series. Start at 1942, then go to BF2, then 2142. All these games had 4-6 years in between releases. Now BF3 and BF4 have just 3 years between releases? Not even if the game gets released in 2013. Me personally. I'm hoping for a March 2014 release, hell forget that I'd take a 2015 release simply because I want to see the best game DICE can produce, but they can't do that if EA is forcing games out of them.

Remember that they already have the graphics engine -Frostbite- they will probably improve it and it will cut off 1 year of production.

Good point. I didn't consider that. lol I don't see how Frostbite can get any better. There are probably minor bugs in it that we don't notice that could be fixed but other than that. I can't think of anything. But I still believe they are rushing it. They could have easily given us BC3 or 2143. I would have loved to seen 1942 remade in the current Frostbite engine. I'm not talking like 1943 was, I want to see the entire 1942 remade in frostbite. Same with Battlefield 2. Not to mention they can now add console ports to all their BF games... Shit I think I just found my favorite game series. Besides Spyro of course. Winky Winky
