Well the graphic used in that story is a bit confusing, and the story is lacking in correct terminology. The reason it's called quad is because it can contain 4 1080p images (it's 8.3MP compared to 2.1). It's also called QFHD (quad full HD) and ultra HD (that's what they called it when they showed it off during the last Olympics). This image from Wikipedia can show you why most companies are skipping 2K and going directly to 4K (as 2K is barely an improvement over regular 1080p). It would be nice if 3D was standard by the time the prices come down to consumer levels... by then 3D technology should have improved quite a bit, but you gotta start somewhere!

Ah that makes much more sense! Quad Full HD! But still I think they could have chosen a better terminology... Winky Winky

the ps3 was orignally designed to run of several tvs at once with little to no frame lose that was also with a second processor on it as well think they got it around 7 tv's when it was tested

Bane Does Work. Like Me.
Sony can't afford this. Nor can the average gamer. Where's the money? That's the only thing going through Sony's head. If you want the graphics, and you have the money to buy a 4k support tv then BUY A PC. BUY A MONITOR. BUY A GRAPHICS CARD. It's that simple and Sony knows that, I really don't see the ps4/720 containing 4k hd and if they do possibly in a different/more expensive version of the ps4 containing better hardware.
