I've gone through this thread and deleted a few things.

I don't mind this thread being here, and people discussing their opinions as to why Minecraft is played, but I am not happy with people posting in here calling Minecraft players pathetic, retarded and other offensive terms.

Continue to do so and this will just get closed.

I have my respects for minecraft, because the creator actually made some FUCKING money off a video game, unlike you who is sitting here complaining or making an opinion about a block building creative video game.

Minecraft is not so much a game, but an open world where you build what you want, in essence a very big sandbox. You are limited only by your imagination, and the blocks that are provided, the fact there are mobs only enhances the experience. If you never played with legos, erector set, or other such games, minecraft will not appeal to you. It requires you to think about what you want to, it does not tell you what to do, that is up to you to decide.

I'm not much of a Minecraft gamer because I'm not really into sandbox games. However I do play it and enjoy playing it with friends. However it seems like it would be a game for children, but I don't see it as a game designed for kids.

It's a sandbox game for all ages. Simply put, nothing more nothing less.
