What does power level mean??

since i am a high level and you are not it is much harder for you to kill my level enemies. So if i kill one instead of usually getting like 50k you will get like 500+ because they are so high ranked. You rank fast

If i do that, wont i miss a major par part of the storyline seeing as i am joing your game and where you are up to?
Because if i try go back to my game wont i be up to where you are at?

you "MAY" hit a spoiler but after doing missions with me and you go back to your you have the option to continue where we went or where you were.
