4J Studios confirmed last week that the long awaited 1.8.2 patch for Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition went off for Microsoft certification testing. Today, 4J Studios announced via Twitter that the patch passed testing and will be available starting tomorrow, October 16th!
If you weren't around when this patch came to the PC version of Minecraft, this patch adds a number of great features to the game including creative mode, villages, ravines, strongholds, abandoned mines, new mobs, new items, hunger, new combat mechanics such as the drawing back of bows, and much more! Personally, I have been waiting for this patch to hit the Xbox 360 version of the game for a long time. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that the Xbox 360 version just wasn't as fun with it's limited features compared to the PC version.
Minecraft broke arcade game records and became the #2 top played game on Xbox Live shortly after it's release in May earlier this year. Now that it's five months later and most have grown bored of playing Modern Warfare 3 this might be possible!
