they are not necessarily very powerful, they are just a type of hybrid weapons, the can have any rarity: from white to black, to pearlescent. What I mean is that being black rarity doesn't mean it's the most powerful, but yes some of the are extremely powerful, and some will bring the ice age to your console so watch out

there are many ways to get your save corrupted, just remember: black guns must be made on the bank! if you tell me what exactly you're modding it would be better

EDIT: I was just looking at a forum and I remembered something that may be causing your problem, it's really simple: did you re-encrypt the save?

Now i'm having an even bigger problem. I mod guns btw, well i modded everything save went through and all.. now it doesn't work though. None of the guns saved or anything (the size of the file is bigger than original but when i copy it over to play it downsizes again and it isn't the modded save). This is rather complicating.

When you use gibbed's editor, you have to edit your modded weapon into your bank and when after your game session it has to be back in the bank or else the gun won't save. Reason is because the hybrid guns are composed of elements from the different types of guns; the game detects that and therefore gets rid of it if it's in your active backpack.
