id say u need disc cause the one from store auto updates wen u get plus it will delte off ur ps3 so u have to keep downloading it look up on utube surely theres a way i hope u find 1

its easy to say the steps...(2 Ps3 method)
1. Download PS Store version on OFW ps3.
2. Data Transfer Ultility OFW > CFW
3. On CFW, Mod the files.
4. Data Transfer Ultility CFW > OFW
5. On OFW, Sign In and go to account settings >System Activation> Activate system> Game > Activate.
6. Your GTA IV can now be played, hopefully with working mods.


PS. The only thing that sucks is that you can't test the mods on CFW unless you can Sign in and activate the game.

my friend is data transfuring to me and he has disk and i have it on the store if he updates the disk and mods it and data transfure to me will it work or will i need the disk as well

You would need the disk aswell.
Or
Maybe let him download the ps store version, then have him mod it, then data transfer back to you.
