I seen these on Amazon for an absolute bargain price, I even got in touch with the seller and he sent a few pics of them, they're in excellent condition and by the looks of it, look barely worn, 170 GBP, should I get them guys?

You think these are better than Turtle Beaches? I am looking into getting a new headset as well! Just not sure which ones are the best.

I wouldn't really recommend getting Astros. They are just a lot of money for a headset, think about it before you buy... Do you really need them? And also I was in your position but I spoke myself out of getting them because 200 for a headset is a joke so I just got 80pound Trittons and I am happy with them.

Alright so I've had a few different headsets through out the years. From Turtle Beach, Tritton and Astro.
Personally I wouldn't go for the a50s (which by the way looks like a ripoff there....) because of what I think makes Astro better than the rest of the market other than the quality- The mix amp. It sounds and feels amazing and has incredible expandability. Other problems I have with these headphones are the battery life. Not that its terrible, I just dislike having to charge my headsets especially in the middle of longish gaming sessions like zombies. Wireless can also cause interference with other devices such as your wifi. I know atleast one person who has had this problem. Also if you are an xbox player- they aren't even truly wireless because you have a wire to your controller for chat.

Trittons are the best sounding headset in my opinion but their quality isn't great. They are made by madcatz for anyone who remembers them. With my Trittons, and many others, the mic sounds amazing and can be even further improved for about a dollar if you get a wind screen. Unfortunately the mic breaks after only a couple of months. I had my Trittons for about 2 to 2.5 years before the wire gave out and in that time I had to buy 4 microphones from them (first 1 was free, others were $10-$20)

My turtle beaches were the what I would call a budget headset. They are less likely to break than they Trittons but the sound and mic quality is comparable to just wearing your normal headphones. They do offer better models which are comparable to the other 2 companies but generally I would say that these are marketed for a casual gamer that just wants a quick upgrade instead of the core crowd that wants better quality.

The headset that I enjoy the most is the one I am currently using. The Astro A40's are their top notch headphones that come with the mixamp. The headphones are the most comfortable that I have worn. The quality of these is top notch and even if they break, the customer service is wonderful to work with. Some features that you will find with the newest model are like detachable cables so even if they break you can get a $5 cable vs a new headset, ability to daisy chain them to use at a friends. An extra audio in port so listen to your mp3 player or other things. The streaming port combines all audio (game sounds, game chat and your voice) into one to make recording easier. And a small range of other features that you can look up pretty easy if you wish.

Now as far as headsets go, all 3 of the mentioned are way overpriced as compared to pc gaming headsets. if you are solely looking for a pc gaming headset you shouldn't need to look at anything more than $100. I get the aforementioned because I enjoy compatibility.
