yes you can and i use to do it because my computer would download it faster (not the case anymore) but what you will need is
PS3.ProxyServer.gui google it

1. open up the gui after installing it
2. open up your cmd and get your ipv4 address and put it in the box in the ps3 gui
3. check the "ps3 mode" box and start, if you get an error, you entered the incorrect ip address
4. start the download on your ps3, then go back to the gui and in the "logs" tab you will see links, the top one will be the bf3 update then cancel it on your ps3
5. download it to your computer
6. in the gui, goto replace files and hit add
7. put the download link in the right side and browse to the bf3 update on the left side
8. go back to download it on your ps3, still with the gui open and if done correctly, it will download from your pc much faster.
