(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); We all know there are two types of car in GT5: used and new.

Used cars have tired chassis and engine, dirty oil, and mileage. New cars have fresh chassis, engine, clean oil, and no or little mileage, right?

Well actually, no, there are infact 3 types of New Car:

New Car Dealership (NCD) – these premium cars have fresh engine, chassis, no mileage – but their engines aren’t broken in, this takes 100-200 miles before they reach maximum HP. You can also gain some extra HP by changing the stock oil in GT Auto. (Standard cars acquired from tickets also fall into this category)

Online Car Dealership (OCD) – these cars also have fresh engine, chassis and no mileage – but the difference is these engines are already broken in. Like NCD cars you can gain some extra HP by changing the oil. This the ideal car as it’s the maximum HP a car can reach before adding modifications.

Restored Cars from the Used Car Dealership (UCD) that have been restored using the limited availability restoration tickets. This returns the car to an NCD condition including resetting mileage to zero, but doesn’t reset other switches (changes, wins) – like NCD cars the engines need breaking in, but surprisingly already have GT Auto’s “magic oil” included.

So, what is the difference between all these types of car? Surprisingly less than two dozen bytes. So lets find them:

You must login or register to view this content.

The data we’re looking to restore UCD cars to NCD/OCD condition is located in this picture, 25 rows above the engine multiplier that we’re all familiar with. It consists of 18 bytes that contain information about the condition of the engine, chassis, mileage - and oil.

Lets compare different cars:

Cars that come from fresh from the NCD (engine needs breaking in) look like this:

00 00 00 00 FF FB 6C 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 0A

and after an oil change they look like this (extra HP):

00 00 00 00 FF FB 6C 20 C8 92 7C 00 00 00 00 00 00 0A

and restored cars look like this (like NCD but don’t need an oil change):

00 00 00 00 FF FB 6C 20 C8 92 7C 00 00 00 00 00 00 0A

Cars that come fresh from the OCD, their data looks like this (engine doesn't need breaking in):

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 0A

and after an oil change (the ideal situation) they look like this:

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 C8 92 7C 00 00 00 00 00 00 0A

So if you want your car in the best condition possible, choose the last above :y:

N.B. if you want to reset the other switches (changes, wins) to zero they’re included in the picture too. (Reset car to 0/0/0 condition)

I can confirm miles are also reset to 0.0 (when viewing the car stats). Was hoping you'd implement this... well, I hope you will. Smile

Thanks for the tut Soupie, been using it on several cars. Smile

Hello Luca Turilli (obvious Rhapsody fan :P ) ! Your tool is great! I use it along with GT5 Garage Editor ,for a full list of OCD cars.
The problem is that I am trying with GT5Editor to change values to ALL CARS via "Function" tab with no success.
Raising odometer to 300km ,didnt do a break in engine and also I dont know what value to give for OIL Change.

We are trying to figure it out here You must login or register to view this content.

Will you do an update for an "ALL CARS" button ?

i have a question.
does this only works on your 'current car' or can you select any car on your save?
if so, anybody knows the offset and values?

thx
