But they've still got to detect the hybrid cars. Locked/Unlocked savegame makes no difference to that.
They'll have to create a database of every car and every mod possible and remove the HP multiplier (why its there in the first place is a total mystery, whats the point of it? Its been there since GT3 apparently) and thats a lot of work and the server would have to run a check against every car, every part, that goes online and thats a lot of extra work for the server - and going by how slow they are already they're probably overworked as it is.

Kinda off-topic, but usefull:
I heard about some users having their PSN accounts banned from GT5 due activities related to hacking. I don´t know exactly what they was doing, maybe by stealing DLC paint chips over and over or being reported after screw (troll) around inside racing / drag lobies.
Is there anyone here that also heard similar histories? Are you guys afraid of have your account banned for using / creating / sharing moded content, even with some responsible cares?
Unsubstantiated rumour. My account with all hybrid cars still connects just fine. Its a secondary (well, tertiary actually) account created especially for the purpose, if it gets banned well, no big loss.
If they introduce a console ban they risk banning innocent people that are using a shared PS3. Risky strategy for Sony/PD.
