Post: Height editing problem
03-31-2013, 07:12 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So I've been running into a problem lowering my ride height on certain Premium cars. This is with using both Luca's and Slim's editors, using various editions of those programs too.

Premium Mazda RX7 GT-X (FC) '90:
Lotus Esprit Turbo HC Chassis
When I lower this using the editors, I can get the fenders down to the very top of the tires, then if I try to get it any lower it makes the car start to sink into the ground (makes it look like the tires are flat)

Same thing happens with my Premium R32 Skyline GTR.

When I tried the same thing with my Premium Eunos Roadster, after a certain point the front will keep lowering like normal but the rear tire will sink into the ground.

This doesn't happen with every car. Doesn't matter what chassis or tires the car has (I tried this with a completely stock Premium Mazda RX7 GT-X (FC) '90 and it does the same thing, as well as with a completely stock Premium Nissan March).

Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? I've searched all over this forum and haven't found anything. I've also tried other things like swapping suspension from other cars (tried to swap the Toyots Celica ST185 Rally car suspension since it can lower the car to -50 in the tuning menu, didnt work).

You can kind of see it here with my R32, the rear tire is slightly sinking into the ground and the more I lower it, the more it sinks down.

Its not the editors, its the game itself. It happens even through hex mod. Not sure why it does but it does. Had the same issue with my R32 tho, but swapped a smaller chas n it evened out.

Do a barrel roll!
Dude the Carbody drop on the Tires.

How do you think are this works? The Body goes in the Tires?

Set more Camber for more Space between Body and Tire.

But every Car has a restriction for lowering. There are the End from the Coilovers i think, i don´t try it with other Suspensions. FC3S at -60, R34 GT-R at -45, S15 at -70! You can lower the Car at -120, but the Car doesn´t go lower like the restriktion.

The problem is not that the body goes into the tires, the problem is that the body only lowers to a certain point, and then anything after that the actual tires start sinking into the ground.

But thanks guys for letting me know its just a weird glitch on some cars, guess I cant slam my R32  Spent like 2 hours trying different configurations to try to solve the problem last night :nerd:

Right.

Look like the Astra Touringcar Chassis on your R32. Set 3.0 Camber on Front and 2.8 at the Rear.

And now taaaaaadaaaaaaaa suprise suprise you have enough Space between Tire and Car Body for more lowering!

I noticed this too on my 370Z the car when farther into the ground but the car stayed the same height lol I will try dropping it to the ground to see if it changes it but it looks like for some cars if you want them to look normal u can't lower them...

Maybe with other Suspension. A other Chassis (i use the YMS Yellowhead Supra Chassis without Downforce for drifting) helps not. A Chassis with smaller Tiretrack maybe. Or try to put Stock Rims on it, make it low and then buy tuningwheels.

It doesn't work that way in GT5. The game doesn't stop lowering the car because of the body hitting the tires, its not a clearance issue (like it would be in real life).

I know this because I can lower other cars, and if I make it too low the tires will just glitch and stick out of the top of the fenders or the top of the hood, it doesn't stop lowering just because the tires hit the body.

I also tried this on a completely unmodified Mazda RX7. Stock wheels, stock tires, stock chassis. The tires dont hit the body, but still, after a certain point of lowering the tires just sink into the ground.

Oh well, just something GT5 wont let you do on certain cars.

Sorry Guys i know my english are pretty bad, because i´m from Germany and don´t spell it every day in real life.

But Sometimes it´s feeling like i speak chinese. Of course stay the Body on the Tire, look at the Picture!
When you a chassis with more widht use, the Tires comes more out. So you must Setup minimum so much Camber, that you becomes space between Tire and Body.

Not at the Rear Fenders, but i´m pretty sure the game does it on the Front! Dude, a Z34 completely stock without modding on it, goes ingame setted lower. But the Z34 is very special like the R34 GTR. The certain point of lowering is nearly the max low Value from the Game. In game you can set it at -25, thats in the Editor at 80. The certain point must be -35 or -40, so you have not much range of spring at the Z34 Suspension there you can use for editing the lowering.

Only Chassisswap are not help, maybe Chassis and Suspension from the same Car. It doesn´t help, try to put the Z34 Body on the other Car.
