You enable the special options menu. Load your game. Go to options. Scroll to the bottom. The screen will say "Secret".... you are now in the Secret options menu. Can't see how that is confusing.

Enable label_lounge from secret menu, from main screen go into edit name and you can change from there. I really don't know if it will show when you are in a lobby to yourself but others may see it. Noticeably with the flag change for instance.
