It could possibly be, they could put copyright protection onto the gamesaves like they did with dead island :|

I don't see why they would care anymore considering they are hard at work on GT6. I don't even think that copyright protection will help, its probably just server-side maintenance.

Thx I backup saves everytime I do a motor swap.I honestly hope it doesnt stop hybrids im not sure if I can go back to underpowered cars with crap sounding exhaust notes.I was a good tunnel drag tuner before hacks the motor swaps and drivetrain swaps have made it so much more fun and interesting for me.Sometimes I dont even go online i just come up with cool swap ideas like the 3.5l Ford Duratec v6 from the Mazda MX Crossport SUV into a Ford Taurus SHO add a turbo and an AWD system with center differential and there you have an Ecoboost Ford Taurus SHO lol.

lol someone should find a way to mod a ford powerstroke diesel engine in gt5 if possible think how cool it would be then when u accelerate u have black smoke comeing out of your exhaust

It could possibly be some small step towards making hybrids unusable.

I would hope that if PD went down this route, they would give us a chance to delete any offending cars from our saves. For example, when you load up it would say "The following cars are not permitted (list), please remove them to regain access to online facilities in GT5"

I know one thing... I won't be going online and accepting a downloadable patch for GT5 until I know exactly what it does.

PD should let us use the secret parts and not ban us for useing them or PD should release the secret parts so the playing field is a little more even

i just deleted all my hacked cars... sort of.... just saved my data to a usb and deleted the data and started a new game and left it, just incase of banning during maintainence

Yes the powerstroke idea would be pretty cool I would throw that diesel motor into a few vehicles talk about torque lol. Hopefully they will give us a chance to delete our prized hacks like some of you have stated but im always gonna have back up.But this could be just be normal server back end maintenance as stated.Im going to still be creating swaps offline until maintenance is over and someone tells me either its all good or its the end. If it is the end I soon will eventually put GT5 down sadly and fire up this crap box 360 and play forza 4 until Grid 2 comes out i guess waiting for GT6. If so good, great times GT5 I still might play you from time to time.
