Nintendo’s Wii U is getting a nice little boost this week with the U.S. launch of its Virtual Console. The announcement came via the Wii U’s Facebook page.

The service will become available on Tuesday, April 23rd and will offer Wii U owners a lineup of NES and SNES titles, such as Donkey Kong Jr., F-Zero, Mega Man 1, Excitebike, Super Metroid, and Super Mario World.

Looking ahead, Nintendo plans to release titles from Game Boy advance and its other systems to the Virtual Console in the future. One title in particular, Earthbound, is said to be coming to the Virtual Console in North America and Europe before the year is over.

While some of these titles lacked save points when they were originally released, they’ll have restore points in their Virtual Console form to give players the ability to pause games and pick up where they left off later on.
