There's definitely some possible positive response considering how modders and such were handled on GT5. However I guess its only a matter of time before one can see any sort of formidable results as to "bang for your buck".
I still don't like the fact that with standard cars how one has to gamble luck with Russian roulette. Miss that one chance and you can expect to wait ages especially if its one of those classic/LMP/rally race cars. There are some realistic logic to it however if one were to play with realistic factors why not make it so that if the player does obtain that car already, the same car (with exact same everything) will not reappear again if its one of those classic/LMP/rally race cars?
Needless to say but the items/car trade exists because it isn't easy for one to acquire the car/item they have yearned for. Will this issue be fixed up in GT6 or would we still have to glitch the game somehow so that traders do not get scammed again like they did in GT5? What about the issue with limitations on items that could be sent as per daily limits?
As for the interiors, what is beyond me is why couldn't they simply Google up images of a real life car interior and somehow slap that into the game with a car that has no interior? Sure it would not look completely realistic enough to warrant a standard car be "promoted" to premium car but at least one can feel comfortable driving in the cockpit view instead of that ugly black interior. By the way I never said the gauges had to work for a standard car if they were to go down that path. That was already done with cars that have either a semi or fully open cockpit (e.g. Chaparral 2J, Caterham Seven Fireblade, Suzuki GSXR/4 Concept, etc). I'm sure even with the premium cars featured on GT5, not all the gauges were working in every single premium car.
Another way to look at it is that most standard cars were more or less a variant based on a premium car. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution for instance, Mazda RX-7 and a few MX-5, Nissan Silvia S13, Nissan Skyline, etc. They were more or less various trim levels but essentially the same base model as the premium car featured. They could simply use something like that to base around the standard cars and leave that standard car marked as standard still. Again all in a bid to get rid of the ugly black interior would be really ideal.
I don't expect them to release all the standard cars with interiors at the start of GT6 launch but if they could address it over time with updates (either DLC or otherwise) I'm sure there would be happy gamers out there that will still be entertained. The same that goes with car customisations. For some reason I have a hunch they would probably knew this was bound to happen sooner or later and its not like as if their competitor is offering something that they don't. Therefore they can't expect converts for instance to remain obediant. Also prior to 2.12 patch I guess the hacked cars community were being monitored well before the patch took its maiden flight. Aboveall else, there would probably be some sort of agreement between Polyphony Digital and Turn 10 in regards on what to offer to their gamers either prior and/or now re-discussed agreements. In other words don't hold your breath for GT6 to allow complete customisation which would incorporate parts swapping for instance. Any form of complete incorporation for such functionalities would cause the other party to either frown and/or be asking for lawsuits in regards to anti-competitive nature.
Nonetheless, I'm overall surprised to hear this news even if it was already posted on GTPlanet. I still remain skeptic but not as skeptic as before, it is a good thing that Polyphony Digital may have already heard their fans groans at GT5's woes. However it is only a matter of time before the results speak for themselves.
