(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Commander mode was in BF2 and 2142, if some of you didn't know. On the battlefield wikia, they stated that the commander's roles and abilities are largely unchanged in BF4. But if you read how the commander is chosen through BF2, it's kind of concerning.

"At the start of a round, players can apply for the commander position. The seniormost applicant (in terms of experience) is offered command, which can be accepted or denied."

Now, I play on console, and on console there are a decent number of idiotic Col 100s. I know I know who am I to claim that but I play a lot more BF than an avg person and I've seen so many Col 100s who don't use vehicles to our advantage and don't revive or plant bombs despite the fact there isn't a single soul within a 100 m radius. So giving commander mode to the guy with the most XP isn't quite a good idea if you think about it. I think it's sort of unfair to casual players because they might never ever get the chance to be the commander.

I will say that commander mode looks extremely simple enough for a 5 year old to operate. What I'm worried about is a guy who drops cruise missiles on infantry instead of two tanks perched in a choke point and a gunship placed where it isn't most needed.

But then again, this is just a small rant by one person. It's inevitable to avoid this situation honestly.. So what do you guys think about Commander mode making a comeback? I think it's a good way to change the battlefield (In the hands of someone who can use it properly).

Actually that isn't true. At least not when I played BF2. When I played, you had to apply for the role, and then those on your team were given the option to vote yes or no.

The unfortunate thing here is that its basically impossible to make this a fair thing. If the OP is correct and the player with the most XP is given the option to be Commander then it is completley unfair. The only way i can see it working is like the PC versions of BF2142 and BF2 were you had to vote Yes or No to someone being Commander. That way if the Commander does a appaling job in one game and the majority of the team stay for the next game, then if the same player applys again, they can vote No and give some one else a chance. The amount of times i played BF2 though and a commander would use it for his own personal gain (Run around using UAV on himself to get kills) was ridiculous. Hope EA keep with the idea that Commanders dont get Points for doing normal Soldiers work like kills, Capturing Flags etc...and just get points for supporting there team

I'm pretty sure they do get points for kills. It's confirmed that they get points just for dropping crap down like the tomahawk missile but only +50 for that particular action.

In BF2 & BF2142 they would only get points for support actions, so for example putting a UAV over a Flag while a squad captured it or dropping a supply crate in the middle of a fire fight. If they got a kill it simply just went on the scoreboard but wernt awarded points for it. The tomahawk +50 suggests it might be similair but it is early doors yet

Find it abit wrong that its only for tablets, Would be a really good gamemode if PC/XBOX360-ONE/PS3-4 Could be able to play.
