(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I asked this in another thread, but that thread is in the wrong forum it seems... So I'm moving my post here and deleting the old post.

I just have one question. Do anyone know of a foolproof way to apply the same procedure to cars that are in your garage as opposed to the car you are currently driving? If you know the body code for a specific car, is it possible to pinpoint the "Parameter Blob" for any given car that currently exists in your garage?

This "block method" of selecting data would be far more convenient to me if I could select individual cars from my garage rather than having to constantly reload the game and make a new save for each car I wanted to document.

CRC

PS What I'm ultimately trying to accomplish is use HxD to refresh my Chrome Line cars back to "Totally New and Untouched" as they were the day I got the game. The restore tickets that PD gave us only do half the trick... I would like to remove all the Chassis and Engine mods from them as well. Knowing the blocks from end-to-end would make this easy to fix.

I've driven all of my Chrome Lines into the friggen ground with the exception of the Mercedes. It still has 0.0 miles with one Switch (Photo Mode). It might even have the stock oil... :lol:

this is how a locate any car on my save;

-first make a copy of yours files on your desktop
-open those files with garageeditor from Slim
-now open the files on your USB with brute force
-in brute force, type the bodycode
-if you have found a match, compare for example the paintcode to see if you found the right car
-if not, go to the next match by pressing 2 times F3 on your PC (the bodycode is mentioned twice in 1 cardata)

I just realized that out of context of the other thread my post may not make sense.

What I'm trying to locate is the entire block of data that represents a car.

For example, I know the body code for my Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro Chrome Line is 0x0671. When I open up my data with HxD and locate the body code.. I can track back 81 bytes to 0x3c00 and that is the beginning of the car's data. What I need to know is where is the *end* of this data?

use the blue value as referencepoint and count 16 digits to find the end of the cardata

Thanks for the help. I thought that maybe you had accidently highlighted that additional byte after the 64.

Is the block of data always 416 bytes? Or does it vary depending on the car?

I haven't hex edited save files for quite a long time... The last time was when the old Ravenloft games were popular (Strahd's Possession/Stone Prophet), but the way GT5 data is laid out really isn't all that different from how it was in those games from the mid 90's. Was fun to give my party members loads of health and ridiculous stats on occasion.
