HOW TO ADD/SWAP TURBOS TO ANY CAR

So, you guys may be thinking, wasn't this already possible? Well yes, but it required a FF turbo code. This is an actual swap. The car above has a Supra Mid RPM Turbo in it. And the hp shows it.

This will require Bruteforce/HxD

I'll be doing this with a Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34) '08 (p)
This car is supercharged, but I'd love for it to have the sound of the Blitz Dunlop R34, which won't happen since it doesn't have a turbo.

So first, get the car. You can go to GT Auto and change it visually but I wouldn't do an oil change yet.

Open the file in Bruteforce/HxD
change the first FF after the body code to 74, the same way you do a swap.

You must login or register to view this content.

Find the turbo code (091D if the car doesn't have a turbo option)
I changed it to a Supra Super High RPM Turbo. If you can't find the turbo code, open the save in garage editor 1.3, go to riding car, and get the turbo code that way. Then just search the car parameter in HxD until you find it.

You must login or register to view this content.

Now, usually that would be it, but for turbo you also have to change the code for the Turbo Controller.
For me, it starts directly above where I would go to slam a car. It's 6 bytes long, and is usually all 00 if the car doesnt have turbos. Should be around offset 0000E960. I used a Supra Super High RPM Turbo Controller.

You must login or register to view this content.

Now you can save changes. Encrypt it and do any other swaps you want in garage editor or continue in HxD, or just go to GT5. Enjoy.

Here are some Supra turbo codes.

Supra Stock Turbo- 00000934
Supra Stock Turbo Controller- 02197D063269

Supra Low RPM Turbo- 00000BDF
Supra Low RPM Turbo Controller- 082C73000000

Supra Mid RPM Turbo- 00000D74
Supra Mid RPM Turbo Controller- 082C73000000

Supra High RPM Turbo- 00000F18
Supra High RPM Turbo Controller- 083673000000

Supra Super High RPM Turbo- 00000FE0
Supra Super High RPM Turbo Controller- 0C126415234B

04 blitz ER34 codes
High RPM turbo code: 00000DA4
High RPM turbo controller :03337D000000

GT-R Black Ed High RPM Turbo- 0000156A
Controller- 063B78000000

GT-R Concept LM Super High RPM Turb0- 00000F8C
Controller- 071773132D50

Warning, the Super High RPM Turbo will give cars a lot of hp depending on the engine. Be warned.

And here is the car.

Notice the turbo meter.

HOW TO ADD/SWAP SUPERCHARGERS TO ANY CAR

This will be a little different. Cars that don't have a supercharger option won't have a code (Like 09 1D for non-turbo cars). Instead, it will be FFFFFFFF. You may want to add all the parts before hand just to narrow it down some. I won't be doing that in this tutorial, but I will try to make it as clear as possible on where the location will be in your save.

I will be adding a Ford GT supercharger (code is 00 8C) to a mazda RX-7 premium.

Here is where I found the supercharger in my Ford GT.

You must login or register to view this content.

First, you would buy the car you want a supercharger in. Open that car in HxD and do the same 74 in the first FF after the body code like you would do for any swap. Then go to the supercharger location. It should be around the offset 0000E910. I went ahead and changed it to the supercharger. In a stock car, you should see a row of code in with the FFs. The codes I see in every car are 0000002C 00000010 and then the 4 bytes of the body code. Use those as a sign to where the supercharger is. The supercharger should be the first FF FF FF FF you see.

As an extra step, I also took the stock turbo off. You don't have to do this, I just did it so I didn't have a turbo and supercharger.
All you have to do for this is change the turbo code to 09 1D and then the controller to 00 00 00 00 00 00. Just like you would find in a n/a car.

And as you can see here it worked. 330hp with just a supercharger in it.

I hope this helps anyone who was asking for supercharger swaps haha.

And again, the Ford GT Supercharger code is 00 8C.

I'm not quite sure if this will have any effect on the sound of the car, as I have yet to drive it fully tuned.

Enjoy Smile

I just changed that one to 74, then I went to line E910 and changed that to CD 00 00 00 8C (just learning my way around).

The car now has the only installed part: in_manifold_09 which apparently means 19,679hp

Looks like I've got some more research to do

edit: Okay, adding titanium racing exhaust now changed it to intake_manifold_52 and I'm at a more bearable 1292hp

Every save has different offsets. Although they are often very close.
Car sheet structure is always the same.
So find car body or something else to get orientated...

Thanks for the list on the other thread.
Unfortunately no cars have a superchaerger installed.

Cheers

I've been trying to figure out hex, but I can't seem to figure out which values mean what. I did go to 1.3 and the values given for the car I was in don't show up in hxd. I can't seem to find a tutorial with the basics on how to locate certain offsets. Maybe my viewing settings are wrong or something. I can do engine/ chassis/ drivetrain swaps alright with 1.3/ 1.6, but with hxd and bruteforce there's not much of what I'm looking for out there.

Hey,

OK if you want a little help, here it is.

First find your own PSN name, a simple text search would do.
Your current car sheet is above it (slowly scroll up)
A simple reference point would be 01 04 01 40, that sequence is always there and will never change.
Now start counting positions until you find what you need from the screenshot's in the OP.

If above fails, I suggest you de-install the HEX editor and stick to the tools instead Smile

Good luck!

Luca

In GE 1.3, did you click on riding car? Those are the values you should look for. And if I were you, I'd fully tune a car, open a notepad, and copy down values for certain things (i.e: copy what turbo value to look for) and then go through your car's info in HxD and find each part you typed down and put down which line it starts in and which column it starts in. Like this

LMP Brakes- (0000E8B0, START, 05)- 00000EB8

you're offsets will be different than mine though.

Thank you guys very much! I'm finally figuring the basics of this out. All the tutorials out there and I get it with one tutorial and two comments lol. Maybe my Aston will be twin-charged for a mild power increase, instead of just editing the wrong bytes and ending up getting too much power.

Now that I'm able to find what I need to find:
You must login or register to view this content.
The first boxed section should have been the 00 00 09 1D, or "no turbocharger options available" I attempted to add a Supra's stock turbo from the code given in the tutorial.
The second should have been the supercharger section. I added 00 8C for the Ford GT supercharger, same as in the tutorial.

Hopefully I'm just overlooking something simple. I was trying to twin-charge a premium aston martin, and when I changed the FF to 74 along with the boxed changes hxd didn't agree with the changes and turned my gt5.0 hex codes to gibberish (literally). The second try I only made the changes to the boxed sections no changes occurred at all.
This is probably a stupid question, but should I delete the .BAK file that HxD makes?
Also, I can save changes no problem, but when I close HxD I get this even though the changes stick:
You must login or register to view this content.

Sorry guys, but once I get this figured out I should be able to more on my own. I'm just going to keep trying different things until something works!

And, one last question: to swap parts form another car, can I use the left-hand column in 1.3's riding car section to get the code for the part to change? I now know how to find the current car's part that I want to change so I'm a bit further ahead. I just want to double check.

I really appreciate all the help from you guys.

You can't do the supercharger swap and turbo swap at the same time, it won't work. You'll have to do one, open in game, and then copy the the one you just opened back to your flashdrive and then do the other swap.

I get the same "error" thingy too. I just click cancel.

Take the files out of the .rar container and drag it to a new folder, Then right click the editor and run as admin, It works on my 16 year old laptop running xp and it runs on my 2month old win8 laptop as well so I really dont understand what problem youre having, Do you have all the current .net framework updates for your os?

also I cant reply to you as fast as I could if you hit that magical quote button when trying to ask me a question...

Ah, okay. I just found out I'm inheriting my mom's laptop since I've had it for about a year now, and the programs just mysteriously stopped working for me. Something about bruteforce decrypting isn't agreeing with the 1.5a or 1.6 which both worked flawlessly last night/ this morning. It might have something to do with the massive modding I've been doing in Borderlands 2, but I'm uninstalling unimportant programs and reinstalling only the ones that I use for GT5.

When I started gt5 the last 15/20 times after modding I get to the warning, then the colored logo just stays there. Hopefully reinstalling the programs and a new psn on another user will work. Good thing I'm only modding a secondary profile, not the main one that I've put a lot of time and effort into.
